Community encouraged to support Logan's X Factor finalists

Logan City has taken centre stage in one of the most popular shows on television.

Queensland's only finalists in Channel 7's X Factor, Dami Im and JTR, are both from Logan and competed in the second week of live performances last night.

Logan Mayor, Councillor Pam Parker, said Dami, 24, and JTR – made up of brothers John, 23, Tom, 20, and Robin, 19 – had set the stage in their first live performances.

"Dami has now had two standing ovations for her performances of One by U2 and Purple Rain by Prince, so she is setting the pace for the other contestants," she said.

"We are so proud that these artists hail from our great city - they are just another example of the great talent our community has heralded in recent years.

"I encourage everyone to get behind Dami and JTR by supporting them because it would be fantastic for this year's X Factor winner to come from Logan.

"It is wonderful that these artists are helping to put Logan on the map in such a positive way."

Dami is being mentored by Danni Minogue, while Natalie Bassingthwaite is mentoring JTR.

X Factor is on Channel 7 at 6.30pm on Sunday nights and 7.30pm on Monday nights.

Daisy Hill resident Dami Im is competing in Channel 7's X Factor competition.
