Logan City's six aquatic centres will again be hosting a day of fun for the whole family on Sunday 26 January.

Slip, slop, slap and splash into the spirit of Australia Day this summer at one of Logan’s annual Australia Day pool parties.

Parks, Sport and Community Services Committee Chairperson, Councillor Phil Pidgeon (Division 9) said Aqualogan's aquatic centres at Beenleigh, Bethania, Eagleby, Logan North, Gould Adams Park in Kingston and Jimboomba Swimming Pool would again be hosting a day of fun for the whole family.

"The pool parties are always a popular event on the Logan calendar for local families and this year’s set to be no different, with lots of fun activities planned," he said.

"Australia Day is all about coming together with family and friends to celebrate our adventurous attitudes and laid back lifestyle.

"I can’t think of a better spot to enjoy our national day of celebration than a day of fun in the sun at an Aussie pool party.”

Cr Pidgeon said the activities would include jumping castles, sausage sizzles, competitions and giveaways.

Pool parties will be held Sunday 26 January, between:

  • 10am and 2pm at Beenleigh Aquatic Centre, City Rd, Beenleigh
  • 10am and 2pm at Bethania Aquatic Centre, 88-118 Station Rd, Bethania
  • 10am and 2pm at Eagleby Aquatic Centre, Cowper Ave, Eagleby
  • 10am and 2pm at Logan North Aquatic Centre, Sports Dr, Underwood
  • 10am and 2pm at Gould Adams Park Aquatic Centre, 558-662 Kingston Rd, Kingston
  • 12 noon and 5pm at Jimboomba Swimming Pool, Johanna St, Jimboomba.

Cr Pidgeon said while the pool party activities are free, normal entry prices would apply.

"So grab a swimsuit and a towel and head down to your nearest pool party," he said.

Patrons can bring their own picnic or barbecue lunch and drinks into the venue, but eskies and bags will be checked before entry as no sharp cutlery, glass or alcohol will be permitted.
