Plan ahead for Festival and Eats and Beats spectacular
Published: 28 Jul 2015
Preparations are well underway for this weekend's combined Queensland Music Festival "Under This Sky" spectacular and the Eats and Beats food truck and music festival.
With more than 7,000 people expected to attend each night, plans are now in place to make getting to and from the event as easy as possible.
Mayor Pam Parker said organisers had been working with council and Queensland Police Service to ensure the family friendly and alcohol free event runs as smoothly as possible.
"Some street closures will be necessary and the parking spaces around the Wembley Road Council offices and Logan Entertainment Centre will be required for emergency vehicles, performers, essential equipment and parking for people with a disability," Mayor Parker said.
"We want everyone to have a great night and enjoy the production that has involved many months of preparation.
"Council's popular Eats and Beats pop-up truck festival will start at 3pm on Saturday and Sunday and will operate both nights until 9:30pm.
"I strongly encourage anyone planning to attend to arrive early and take advantage of the park'n'ride operating between Logan Central Plaza Shopping Centre and the event from 3pm until 9:30pm," she said.
