Shopping

No visit to the City of Logan is complete without a dose of retail therapy. We have two major shopping centres, one of the largest IKEA stores in the world, and some of the best home-maker centres in South-East Queensland.

IKEA, of course, is the best-known and most iconic retail outlet in the City of Logan, with its vibrant blue and yellow building right alongside the Pacific Motorway at Springwood. The Swedish-owned store continues to be the benchmark for affordable and funky furniture, and this huge centre also has an expansive Market Hall bursting with home wares.

Right next door, is the Logan MegaCentre, home to a diverse range of stores specialising in household furniture and bedding, camping, and indoor and outdoor living. You can also grab a bite to eat or a coffee in between store visits at The Coffee Club.

Home-maker centres are a bit of a specialty here in the City of Logan, with another 26 stores at the Hyperdome Home Centre and a wide range of retailers at Village Square in Browns Plains. There's also the Harvey Norman Centre at Loganholme with its two Harvey Norman stores (furniture and electrical) and mega stores including Babies Galore and Kitchenware Plus. The latter retailer is a favourite with foodies and budding chefs, stocking possibly the widest range of cookware and kitchen gadgets in South-East Queensland; the business also offers on-site cooking classes with celebrity chefs.

Speaking of the Hyperdome…this landmark shopping centre continues to be the best-known retail hub in the region, with four supermarkets, Myer, Kmart, Big W, and 220 specialty stores. And there's more to do than just shop: the piazza has 13 restaurants and bars, AMF Bowling, laser skirmish, children's playgrounds and the Hyperplex Cinemas.

Over in the west, you'll find Grand Plaza and its 170 stores and popular cinema complex. Quality shopping can be found across our suburbs, with key centres including Springwood Centro and Arndale Shopping Centre at Springwood, Beenleigh Marketplace, and Logan Central Plaza (Woodridge).

Did you know the City of Logan has one of Queensland's most respected music stores? Ellaways at Underwood is a must-visit for local and interstate musicians keen to check out the latest and best musical products and accessories.

If you're staying with family and friends, ask them about their favourite retailers in the City of Logan. There are plenty of other great spots to shop (particularly for specialty items) and locals know where to find them.
