Eats and Beats boogies on down to Beenleigh
Published: 18 Apr 2016
Beenleigh Town Square will host the next instalment of popular food truck and live music festival Eats and Beats this month.
This will be the third time in the past six months the travelling feast has visited Beenleigh.
City Image Committee Chairperson Cr Laurie Smith said the last visit to Beenleigh during the Christmas Eats and Beats series was a huge success.
“The creation of Beenleigh Town Square last year has delivered a fantastic space in the heart of Beenleigh’s CBD to hold events like this,” Cr Smith said.
“We’re really excited about this one because construction of the civic platform that forms part of the town square is about to finish, giving the event a dedicated stage for the music acts that will be performing on the night.”
Cr Smith said the event would also continue to offer a revolving cast of some of South-East Queensland’s best food trucks.
“We’ll have almost 30 food trucks set up next to the square and there are plenty of places to stretch out and eat dinner with your friends and family,” he said.
“Eats and Beats is a free event so we always recommend people get there early to beat the crowds and bring a picnic rug or chair, just in case there is a high demand for seating on the night.”
Eats and Beats runs from 5pm to 9pm and will welcome back regular food truck favourites including King of the Wings, That BBQ Joint, Tender Calamari, Donut Boyz and many more.
