Weather moves Jazz and Shiraz to LEC

Published: 27 Mar 2014

The 2014 Jazz and Shiraz event this weekend has been moved due to wet weather forecasts.
Due to be held outdoors at the historic Kingston Butter Factory Community Arts Centre on Saturday, Jazz and Shiraz will instead relocate to the Logan Entertainment Centre on Wembley Rd, Logan Central.
Mayor Pam Parker said while weather was hard to predict, the current forecast posed too great a risk to event goers and performers.
“While we were all looking forward to enjoying the evening out under the stars, we didn’t want the threat or eventuation of wet weather to ruin the event,” she said.
“By changing the venue early, jazz fans can still enjoy the stellar line-up and the great local food and wine with friends and family, without worrying about wet weather dampening the mood.”
Doors will open at 2pm. The event will be held from 3pm to 9pm and seats will be allocated.
Event goers are still invited to bring a picnic and soft drink however no BYO alcohol will be permitted and bags will be checked on entry.
Jazz and Shiraz will feature acclaimed jazz singer Grace Knight from the Eurogliders, as well as David De Vito, Scat, Renae Suttie, Laura Mitchell and Mal Wood and Friends.
Gourmet food will be available for purchase from Focus by James, pizza from The Fire Inside and waffles and pancakes. Wine and other beverages will be available from Sirromet Wines and Cedar Creek Estate Wines. Coffee will be available from The Rich Pour.
